Broken Heart–Erin Maher

I wanted to create something that medical imaging would not be able to capture, and what stuck out most to me was the concept of a "broken heart." We’re able to see signs of sadness after a break up in the brain (presence of certain chemicals, neurons firing, etc.) but most of us consider our heart to be the organ governing love, not our brains. I created a representation of a broken heart based on this common societal view.
